I don't know about the video game on which is based the movie, but I think that the fans will not be disappointed. It’s about an hour and a half of pure action. The characters are one-dimensional and shallow (a cool guy in a dark suit and red tie with big guns, a persistent Interpol agent, a not so smart Russian agent, a corrupted politician and a sexy Russian woman that gets naked) and the performances easy forgettable (although it's been fun to watch Prison Break's T-Bag (Robert Knepper) as a Russian FSB agent). The plot involving political intrigues, Interpol and Russian secret police isn’t very clear, but in a movie of this genre it is normal to sacrifice story for visual style. And here lies the best side of the movie: visually impressive action sequences: explosions, bullets flying all around, and my personal favorite: swords fight in a train. Also a very good sound editing caught my attention.
In short, ”Hitman” is a very good mindless action movie to watch on a boring afternoon.
